Service Credit Union Student-Athletes of the Week: Hedda Martelleur and Jayden Buckrell

DURHAM, N.H. – Senior Hedda Martelleur (Uppsala, Sweden) and sophomore Jayden Buckrell (Collingwood, Ontario) of the UNH ski team were named the Service Credit Union Student-Athletes of the Week on March 16.
This duo of alpine skiers helped UNH place sixth in alpine team points (146) and ninth overall (210.5 points) at the 2026 NCAA Skiing Championships, which were held March 11-14 at the University of Utah.
Hedda earned All-America Second Team honors at the 2026 NCAA Skiing Championships with a ninth-place finish in the women's slalom on March 13. She recorded the fourth-fastest time of 46.22 seconds in the first run and completed Run 2 in 50.78 for a total time of 1:37.00. Hedda earned 22 points for UNH's team score with that ninth-place finish, which marked the first All-America finish of her career.
Hedda garnered 18 points for the Wildcats on the first day of the 73rd annual NCAA Skiing Championships with 13thplace in the women's giant slalom. She completed the course in 1:05.83 on the first run and improved to a 1:01.37 on the next run for an aggregate time of 2:07.20.
In the EISA carnival season, Hedda recorded eight Top 10 finishes, including two podium efforts at Williams with second place in the slalom and third in the giant slalom. She garnered First Team All-East recognition.
Jayden earned All-America Second Team honors in the men's giant slalom at the NCAA Skiing Championships on March 11. He recorded the fifth-fastest time of 58.06 seconds in the first run and then had a similar run of 58.63 in Run 2 to finish in 10th place overall at 1:56.69. He added 22 points to UNH's team score with his second career All-America finish – Jayden was the 2025 slalom national champion.
Jayden contributed 14 more points to the Wildcats with 17th place in the slalom on March 13. He raced to third place at the end of Run 1 with a time of 47.90 seconds and then crossed the finish line in 48.74 in the next run for a total time of 1:36.64.
In the EISA carnival season, Jayden recorded 10 Top 10 finishes, half of which were on the podium with first place in both the SL and GS at St. Lawrence, second place at the Colby slalom, and third place at both Dartmouth (SL) and Williams (GS).
