New Hampshire Hosts BU for 2019-2020 Home Opener

Wildcats looking for second straight win on the young season.

DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire women's basketball team, an even 1-1 on the season, plays its first home game of the 2019-2020 season this Tuesday, November 12 as the Wildcats host the Boston University Terriers at 6 P.M.
The Wildcats began the season in Waco, Texas and in Smithfield, Rhode Island going 1-1 with a loss at #2 Baylor and a victory at Bryant.
With the victory, head coach Maureen Magarity is now alone in second place in all-time wins as a UNH head coach, at 137 wins. The all-time wins leader is Kathy Sanborn at 170.
Following Tuesday's contest, the Wildcats play one road game at Merrimack before returning home for another game at Lundholm, against Wheaton College on Wednesday, November 20. For single-game tickets and great group rates to any home game, visit UNHWildcats.com or call (603)862-4000.

LAST TIME OUT:
- The Wildcats claimed their first win of the season this past Saturday at Bryant in a 68-56 victory over the Bulldogs.
- Senior Caroline Soucy (Beverly, Mass.) posted a career-high 19 points on career-high five made three-pointers to lead the way for New Hampshire.
- Senior Ashley Storey (Cumberland, Maine) also chipped in with 14 points on 6-of-11 shooting and grabbed a team-high seven rebounds.
- Freshman Héléna Delaruelle (Enghien-les-Bains, France), junior Amanda Torres (Hudson, N.H.) and sophomore Ivy Gogolin (Hopkintin, Mass.) all tallied eight points on the afternoon.
- Soucy's five three-pointers were the most made by a Wildcat since Brittni Lai '18 in 2016, also against Bryant.
ABOUT BU:
- The Terriers (Boston, Mass.) have only one game under their belt so far on the young season, an 89-75 loss to Marist.
- BU went 15-14 in its 2018-19 campaign, falling to Holy Cross in the Patriot League Quarterfinals 72-70.
- BU leads the all-time series between the two teams, 40-34, and just halted a UNH winning streak that lasted from 2014-2017. Prior to that UNH streak, BU had one 13 straight meetings from 2008 to 2013.
