STEM DAY is Saturday, Nov. 2, with the Wildcats battling Villanova (1 p.m., NBC Sports Boston). It's the second annual STEM Day event with a pre-game Science, Technology, Engineering and Math Fair and a 'Cats' got the Mouse mousetrap-car race with winners recognized at halftime. The Wildcats will also join in celebrating 150 years of college football.

The biggest news out of Durham prior to UNH's first game of the season was the announcement that 21st-year head coach Sean McDonnell took an indefinite leave of absence for health-related reasons on Aug. 26.
Ricky Santos, who rejoined the UNH staff in March as associate head coach and quarterbacks coach, was named interim head coach Aug. 26. Santos spent the past three seasons (2016-18) as the QB coach at Columbia University. From 2013-15, Santos coached UNH's wide receivers.
New Hampshire has a 4-1 lifetime record against Elon that includes 2-0 at home. Every meeting has been since the Phoenix joined the CAA in 2014.
UNH is 9-1 the past 10 Homecoming games. The Wildcats had won nine straight prior to last year's 35-7 loss to Stony Brook.
UNH carries a two-game winning streak into Saturday's Homecoming matchup against Elon University.
The Wildcats are 2-0 at home, and end a three-game homestand vs. Elon.
New Hampshire has a 15-5 lifetime record at Wildcat Stadium (opened in the 2016 season) and that includes 9-4 against conference opponents.
Since 2008, UNH has a 57-10 home record (.851 win percentage) that includes 38-7 (.844) against CAA teams.
UNH's defense limited Duquesne University to 50 yards rushing and 233 total yards of offense in the Wildcats' 23-6 victory against the Dukes at Wildcat Stadium last Saturday. DU entered the game averaging 31 points, 196.3 rushing yards and 364.3 yards of total offense.
UNH's offense recorded season highs in rushes (45), rushing yards (231), total offense (433 yards), first downs (20) and time of possession (36:18) in the 23-6 win against Duquesne.
Junior Jason Hughes made a career-high three field goals Sept. 28 against Duquesne, and that included a career long of 45 yards on the first drive of the game to give UNH a 3-0 lead.
Senior running back Evan Gray has been a big playmaker this season, as evident by his average of 10.7 yards per carry (30 rushes for 321 yards). He broke through the line of scrimmage and was not caught for a 72-yard touchdown run Sept. 28 against Duquesne.
