GAME RECAP
- Vermont jumped out to an early lead over UNH just over two minutes into the first; the Wildcats turned the puck over on a power play in the neutral zone and a breakaway goal by Lilly Holmes put the Catamounts on the board.
- The Catamounts followed that up with two power play goals with traffic in front of the net 5:14 and 18:38 into the first period.
- New Hampshire was able to answer back 6:16 into the second period as a home run pass from Nicole Dunbar (Coto de Caza, Calif.) found a rushing Meghara McManus who gave the Vermont netminder a little forehand/backhand misdirection and snuck it past the left skate of Skodova to cut into the lead.
- Down by two goals entering the third period, the Wildcats got a power play opportunity 1:18 into the frame. As the advantage was winding down Carlee Turner (Scottsdale, Ariz.) sent it to the point for a waiting Wenczkowski who settled the puck and fired a shot top shelf to the right of the net to cut the Vermont lead to one.
- With five minutes to go in regulation the Wildcats got a rush up-ice started by freshman Tamara Thiérus (Saint-Jérôme, Quebec); she sent it to Annie Berry (Milton, Mass.) in the neutral zone, Berry skated down the right side and crossed the puck towards the crease where Jada Christian was crashing the net, and tipped the puck from one knee through the five-hole to tie the game.
