GAME RECAP
- A total of four penalties were called in the first half, resulting in three Northeastern power plays and one for UNH. All were killed off, including a Northeastern 5-on-3 power play, for a scoreless tie at the first intermission.
- Both teams had another power play opportunity in the second period; while neither were able to convert, Northeastern used the momentum of their power play to tally the opening goal of the game.
- The Huskies tallied their second goal of the period within the final 10 seconds of play, short-handed, to take a 2-0 lead into the second intermission.
- Seven minutes into the third frame, Northeastern tallied their second even-strength goal, and third total goal of the contest to lead 3-0.
- With the goaltender pulled 17 minutes into the third period, the Wildcats had the puck deep in Northeastern's zone. Carlee Turner (Scottsdale, Ariz.) sent the puck cross-ice from the right side to the left, where Taylor Wenczkowski (Rochester, N.H.) tipped the puck back towards net. At the top of the crease awaiting the puck was Nicole Dunbar (Coto de Caza, Calif.) who redirected the pass through the legs of Frankel for UNH's lone goal of the contest.
- New Hampshire once again went with an extra attacker looking to equalize the contest; Northeastern iced the game with an empty-net goal 18:44 into the third.
