Jordan Nets 13 in 68-44 Loss at American

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Elijah Jordan (Orlando, Fla.) scored a team-high 14 points in the University of New Hampshire men's basketball team's 68-44 loss to American University at Bender Arena on Friday night.
Jordan was the only Wildcat who scored in double digits. He made 5 of 13 field goal attempts, including 2 of 4 3-pointers. Jayden Martinez (Cibolo, Texas) finished with eight points, including a pair of 3-pointers, and 10 rebounds. Marque Maultsby (Raleigh, N.C.) contributed seven points and 11 rebounds. It was the first career double-digit rebound effort for both Martinez and Maultsby.
American's balanced offense was led by Sa'eed Nelson (14 points) and Stacy Beckton, Jr. (12).

THE DIFFERENCE
* Jordan's 3-pointer with 5:01 remaining in the first half lifted the Wildcats within 29-23, but American ended the half on a 16-0 run to take a 45-23 lead into halftime.
GAME RECAP
* The Eagles scored the first seven points of the game to lead wire-to-wire.
* With UNH trailing 18-6, Luke Rosinski (Derry, N.H.) converted a three-point play to ignite a 14-7 run. Martinez, Jordan and Maultsby all hit 3-pointers during the spurt to lift the 'Cats within 25-20 at 6:50.
* Jordan's long-distance field goal made it a six-point game, but American scored five points in the next minute to spark the game-changing run.
* New Hampshire opened the second half with a 7-2 run on Jordan's layup, a 3-pointer by Martinez and layup from Maultsby to narrow the gap to 47-30 at 16:41.
* The Eagles outscored the 'Cats 9-0 the next six minutes to extend the advantage to 56-30.
* UNH never got closer than 24 points the rest of the way.
