UNH TO PLAY AT HARTFORD:
The University of New Hampshire men's soccer team (8-3-1, 2-2-0 AE) returns to action Saturday, Oct. 20, when it travels to take on America East opponent Hartford (1-8-4, 1-3-0 AE) at 4:00 p.m. at Al-Marzook Field. The Wildcats are 18-14-5 all-time versus the Hawks. Last year, UNH won 3-0 on Oct. 7 at Wildcat Stadium. UNH is 3-2-0 versus the Hawks over the last five games.
THE MATCH UP:
UNH is 8-3-1 overall this season and 2-2-0 in America East, while the Hawks are 1-8-4 and 1-3-0 in America East. UNH nets 1.17 goals per game and allows 0.67, while the Hawks score 0.77 goals per contest and allow 1.62.
STRONG DEFENSE:
UNH is ranked 14th in the nation with a 0.647 team goals against average. The Wildcats are also ranked first in America East.
HUXSOHL RANKED NATIONALLY:
Graduate student Lars Huxsohl (Hamburg, Germany) has six shutouts and a 0.653 goals against average. His shutouts are ranked 11th in the nation and his goals against average is 15th.
AMERICA EAST STANDINGS:
With three regular season games left to be played, Stony Brook is first (12 points), while UNH, Vermont, UMass Lowell, UMBC and Binghamton are all tied for second place with six points. Albany and Hartford are tied for seventh with three points. The top six teams make the America East Tournament.
UP NEXT:
The Wildcats will host America East opponent UMass Lowell on Friday, Oct. 26, at 7:00 p.m. for the last regular season game of the year at Wildcat Stadium. The team's seniors will also be honored before the game.
