GAME RECAP
- UNH dominated play in the first period with extended times of possession in the attack zone and a 15-4 shot advantage, but UVM took a 1-0 lead into the first intermission.
- Katherine Pate scored her first goal of the season when her shot from the left point fluttered into the upper-right corner of the cage at 9:31 of the opening frame.
- The Catamounts quickly built the advantage to 3-0 when Rachael Ade and Cassidy Campeau scored goals 16 seconds apart – at 7:39 and 7:55 – in the second stanza.
- The Wildcats recorded a 9-6 shot advantage in the second period for a 24-10 edge in shots through 40 minutes.
- UNH pulled Cashin in favor of an extra skate with six minutes remaining in the game and struck quickly to pull within 3-1 at 14:07. Julia Fedeski (Algonquin Highlands, Ontario) circled behind the net to the right circle and centered a pass to Rheault, who was streaking down the slot and redirected the puck into the cage.
- The Wildcats reinserted Cashin, then pulled her again with 5:12 remaining. New Hampshire, as it had done for long stretches for most of the game, sustained pressure in the offensive zone but UNH was unable to get another shot past Litchfield.
- Litchfield made four saves the final 5:12 and 13 in the final frame.
'CAT NIPS
- Jonna Curtis (Elk River, Minn.) earned the secondary assist on Rheault's goal. She finished with three points (1g, 2a) on the weekend and increased her career total to 46 assists and 96 points.
- Fedeski tallied an assist in both games of the weekend series. She ranks third on the team with eight assists this season.
- This was the 100th career game for juniors Amy Schlagel (Blaine, Minn.) and Carlee Toews (Grand Prairie, Alberta).
