DURHAM, N.H. – Senior Jaleen Smith (Freeport, Texas) finished with 19 points and 11 rebounds for his fifth double-double of the season to lead the University of New Hampshire men's basketball team (17-11, 8-6 AE) to an 82-52 win over the University of Hartford (8-21, 3-11 AE) Saturday afternoon in Lundholm Gym.

HIGHLIGHTS

Smith finished 8 of 15 from the field and played the most games in program history at 118.
Senior Daniel Dion (Cedar Park, Texas) finished with 14 points with four threes, to become the program's single-season 3-pointers made record holder.
Junior Tanner Leissner (Converse, Texas) scored 15 points on 7 of 14 shooting.
Classmate Jordan Reed (Lucas, Texas) scored 10 points and hit 5 of 6 free throws.
The Wildcats shot 17 of 32 from the field in the first half and 31 of 66 in the game.
UNH controlled the boards (51-30) and the paint scoring (38-18).

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hawks jumped out to a 10-1 lead in the first four minutes led by Attia with four points. Dion snapped the Hartford scoring with a layup on the left side of the basket. The Wildcats stormed back to tie it up at 13 apiece with 10:29 to play in the opening frame. Smith tallied two baskets in the run. UNH never trailed in the half from there, pushing the lead to 20, 43-23, by halftime. Hartford only scored 10 points in the final 10:30. They finished the half shooting 28.6 percent from the field. UNH outscored them 40-10 to finish the half.

New Hampshire left nothing on the table in the second half, pushing its lead to a game-high 36 points, 78-42, with five minutes to go in the game. Junior Iba Camara (Dakar, Senegal) totaled eight points and eight rebounds in the final frame.
