New Hampshire enters Saturday's game at Rhode Island with a 1-2 overall record following last week's 22-21 loss at Dartmouth College.
UNH is 0-2 on the road this season.
The Wildcats have a 57-27-5 lifetime record against the Rams of Rhode Island with five consecutive wins in the series.
Last year at UNH's Cowell Stadium, the 'Cats overcame a 17-point halftime deficit to record a 20-17 victory.
The last time these teams met at Meade Stadium, UNH pulled away in the second half for a 41-14 triumph.
URI's most recent win against New Hampshire was Sept. 18, 2010. The score that day in Kingston, R.I., was 28-25.
UNH ended the 2016 regular season with four consecutive conference wins. That win streak began with the 20-17 come-from-behind victory vs. Rhode Island on Oct. 31 at Cowell Stadium.
Dalton Crossan enters Saturday's game with 1,618 career rushing yards. Jim Quinn (1979-82) is No. 10 on the program's career leaderboard with 1,947. Crossan will tie Quinn with 329 more rushing yards.
Senior cornerback Casey DeAndrade demonstrated why he was selected to a preseason defensive player of the year watch list by filling up the stat sheet at Dartmouth with two forced fumbles, eight tackles and two pass breakups.
New Hampshire's defense has recorded a pick-six each of the past two weeks. Casey DeAndrade had a 28-yard interception return for a TD in the fourth quarter vs. Holy Cross on Sept. 10. One week later at Dartmouth, Jared Kuehl had a 61-yard interception return for a touchdown.
Redshirt freshman Malik Love caught 13 passes for 108 yards last week at Dartmouth College; both totals marked personal bests as well as the highs by any Wildcat this season. Despite missing the season opener, Love leads the 'Cats in receptions (16) and receiving yards (130).
