Men's Hoops Takes on Fairfield In CIT Opener (March 16; 7 p.m.)

DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire men's basketball team will head to Fairfield University on Wednesday, March 16 (7 p.m.) for the opening round of the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament.

Looking Ahead
With a win, the Wildcats will play in the second round set for March 18-20. The 26-team tournament is organized by region and the second round will be announced shortly after the first round.

Cat Facts

Sophomore Tanner Leissner (Converse, Texas) has tallied five of the team's top-six scoring games all season.
The Wildcats have increased their scoring total from 67.1 points per game last season to 71.1 points per game this season.
A year ago, UNH totaled five double-doubles. That number has increased to 16 double-doubles this season with both sophomores Iba Camara (Dakar, Senegal) and Leissner recording six apiece.

Back-to-Back Postseasons
The Wildcats are primed to play in their second straight postseason tournament after playing in the CIT last season for the first time in program history. New Hampshire traveled to the New Jersey Institute of Technology (March 16) where the Wildcats fell 84-77. NJIT went on to play in the semifinals of the tournament.

F: So. Iba Camara (Dakar, Senegal) - Holds the second highest rebounding total this season in a single game in the America East (20).
F: So. Tanner Leissner (Converse, Texas) - Led all scorers with 28 points and 10 rebounds at Vermont.
