HOW IT HAPPENED
The Wildcats got off to a nice start and, led by Belanger, owned an 11-6 lead after one period. Belanger had nine of the 11 first-period points.
UNH took advantage of Stony Brook's slow start to the game and the second half. The Seawolves made only one of their first 12 field goal attempts in the game and missed their first eight shots of the second half.
The Seawolves took their only lead of the game at 36-35 in the first minute of the fourth quarter. UNH responded with a six-point run to grab the lead back. Stony Brook pulled within a point three times late in the game but a Simpson 12-foot jump shot and two foul shots each from Pogue and Simpson held the Seawolves off.
