Four Wildcats Score in Double Figures as Women's Hoops Defeats UMass Lowell 63-55

DURHAM, N.H. – Four different Wildcats scored in double figures as the University of New Hampshire women's basketball team completed a regular-season sweep of UMass Lowell with a 63-55 win on Wednesday night at the Tsongas Center.
Sophomore forward Carlie Pogue (Cincinnati, Ohio) led the Wildcats with 14 points and eight rebounds. UNH improved to 10-16 overall and 4-9 in America East, while UMass Lowell fell to 4-22 and 1-13.

HIGHLIGHTS
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Wildcats got off to a great start, and led for the entire game. Five different Wildcats scored during the first quarter and helped put the team ahead 19-11 at the end of the period.
UNH's largest lead of 13 points came with 6:34 remaining in the second quarter after an Anderson three-pointer and ensuing Pogue layup. UMass Lowell proceeded to engineer a 10-0 run, which cut the Wildcats' lead to three.
Melissa Frase helped keep the River Hawks in the game with a hot-hand from beyond the arc. She shot 4-for-5 from three-point territory. She also recorded a game-high five assists.
The River Hawks pulled within one point late in the third-quarter, but back-to-back Pogue layups and a Belanger free throw extended the lead back to six before the final quarter. From there, the Wildcats were able to hold on and close out the game, 63-55.

- Freshman Ashley Storey (Cumberland, Maine) pulled down nine rebounds, which marks a new career-high. Her previous career-high was eight.
- Anderson, Belanger, and sophomore guard Peyton Booth (Wadsworth, Ohio) all notched three assists.
- UNH pulled down four offensive rebounds in the first quarter. All of them led to second-chance baskets accounting for eight of the team's 19 points.
