Service Credit Union Student-Athletes of the Week: Kathelijne Knuttel and Scott Williams

DURHAM, N.H. –Junior Kathelijne Knuttel (Groningen, Netherlands) of the University of New Hampshire field hockey team and senior Scott Williams (Cincinnati, Ohio) of the UNH men's soccer team were named the Service Credit Union Student-Athletes of the Week on Sept. 15.
Kathelijne scored twice in a commanding 6-2 victory over Northeastern. Her first goal came at 19:24 in the second quarter breaking the 0-0 deadlock and giving the Wildcats a 1-0 edge. She struck again in the third period scoring on the feed from Brecken Calcari (St Louis, Mo.) putting the 'Cats up 4-0.
In a road victory at Providence this past Sunday she once again scored two goals. Her first goal opened up the scoring for the Wildcats in the first period, tying the game at 1-1. Her second goal would come later in dramatic fashion. After only 52 seconds of overtime, she scored off a feed from teammate Nicole Poulakis (Ajax, Ontario) giving the Wildcats the 4-3 road win over Providence College.
The Wildcats return to action Friday, Sept. 19 at Rutgers University at the Bauer Track and Field Complex with a 12 p.m. start time. UNH's next home game is Sept. 21 vs. intrastate rival Dartmouth College with a start time of 1 p.m.

Scott was outstanding in net as he made eight saves and recorded his second shutout of the season in the 0-0 tie against UMass on Sept.13. He made five saves during the first half and three in the second. Scott also won the America East Defensive Player of the Week award.
The UNH men's soccer team is back in action Tuesday, Sept. 16 at Harvard's Jordan Field with a start of 7 p.m. UNH's next home game is against intrastate rival Dartmouth College on Sept 20. with a start time of 6 p.m.
