Service Credit Union Student-Athletes of the Week: Sarah Moore and Ethan Palmer

DURHAM, N.H. – Sophomore Sarah Moore (Lisbon, Maine) of the UNH women's track and field team and sophomore Ethan Palmer (Bowdoin, Maine) of the men's track and field team were named the Service Credit Union Student-Athletes of the Week on March 10.
Sarah won the women's 200-meter dash by breaking her own school record with a meet-leading 24.70 seconds to highlight the women's indoor track and field team's final day at the NEICAAA Championships on March 7.
Sarah had broken the 33-year record in the 200-meter dash one day earlier with a time of 24.79 seconds in her preliminary round. The previous school record was set by Alison Poulin in 1993.
Sarah also won the women's long jump March 6 with a mark of 19 feet, 9.75 inches as part of a record-setting weekend at the NEICAAA Championships at the Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center (Boston Mass.). As a team, the Wildcats finished with 52.75 points to place sixth.
Ethan won the men's triple jump at the New England Championships with a 49-foot, 11-inch leap to break the school record. Ethan also had an impressive finish in the long jump with a 22' 1.00" leap to place seventh.
As a team, the Wildcats finished with 105 points, good for second place.
Both UNH men's and women's track and field teams return to action March 27 for the outdoor season opener with the Black and Gold Invite at the Bryant Track & Turf Complex (Smithfield, R.I.).
