‘Cats travel to Harvard on Tuesday

DURHAM, N.H. – Senior goalkeeper Scott Williams (Cincinnati, Ohio) made eight saves to post the shutout as the University of New Hampshire men's soccer team tied UMass, 0-0, on Saturday evening at Wildcat Stadium.

The Wildcats are now 0-3-3, while the Minutemen are 4-1-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The first half went scoreless as Williams made five saves to keep UMass off the scoreboard including a big save in the 31st minute off a header by Aidan Kelly from eight yards out.
The Wildcats almost took the lead in the 62nd minute when freshman forward Santino Moriconi (La Plata, Argentina) sent a header towards the upper left corner of the goal but UMass goalkeeper Dean Linden made a diving save to keep the ball out of the net.
Neither team was able to score the game winner for the 0-0 tie.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

UMass outshot UNH, 13-9, while the Minutemen posted eight shots on goal and the Wildcats took five.
Each team took four corner kicks.
Williams made eight saves for UNH, Linden recorded five for the Minutemen.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:

The shutout for Williams was his second of the season.
UNH is 65-8-13 all-time at Wildcat Stadium, outscoring the opposition, 158-37.
