BOSTON – A total of 254 University of New Hampshire student-athletes spanning 12 teams in America East sponsored sports were named to a conference Academic Honor Roll in the 2024-25 academic year. Of that total, 192 earned recognition on the Commissioner's Honor Roll and 62 were named to the Honor Roll.
Commissioner's Honor Roll recognizes student-athletes who recorded a GPA of 3.50 or higher, and those with a GPA between 3.0 and 3.49 are named to the Honor Roll. The qualifying GPA is the semester in which that sport's conference championship is played.
Sixty-three percent of UNH student-athletes earned Commissioner's Roll recognition and a total of 83 percent of UNH student-athletes recorded a GPA of 3.0 or higher. New Hampshire's numbers were higher than those of the conference, which was 58 percent Commissioner's Honor Roll and 82 percent Honor Roll. Also of note, 59 Wildcats recorded a perfect 4.0 GPA during their team's qualifying GPA semester – that is 19 percent, or almost 1 in 5 student-athletes.
The women's track & field team had the highest number of UNH representatives on the Honor Roll (44), which included 34 on the Commissioner's Honor Roll; that calculates to 96 percent receiving an academic honor and 78 percent on the Commissioner's Honor Roll.
The America East championship women's cross country team was UNH's squad with the highest percentage of student-athletes on the Honor Roll at 100 percent, as all 15 runners made the list. The women's track & field team was near perfect at 96% (44 of 46), followed closely by volleyball at 95% (18 of 19) and men's track & field at 90% (35 of 39).
Six other teams had 80 percent or higher of student-athletes on the Honor Roll – men's cross country at 89% (16 of 18), both men's track & field (34 of 39) and women's soccer (26 of 30) at 87%, the America East championship women's swim and dive team at 86% (24 of 28), and both women's basketball (12 of 15) and women's lacrosse (20 of 25) at 80%.
The conference-winning women's cross country team also boasted the Wildcats' highest percentage of Wildcats on the Commissioner's Honor Roll as once again every runner recorded a fall semester GPA of 3.50 or higher, including five with a perfect 4.0. They were followed by men's cross country at 78% (14 of 18) and both women's track & field (34 of 44) and volleyball (14 of 19) at 74%.
