UNH Inducts 56 Student-Athletes into National Collegiate Honor Society

DURHAM, N.H. – Fifty-six student-athletes from the University of New Hampshire were inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma, the National College Athlete Honor Society, during the seventh annual WESPYs award show on Tuesday, May 6. An additional 35 UNH student-athletes maintained the requirements of the society since last year, as a total of 91 student-athletes were recognized.
Chi Alpha Sigma is the first, and only, national scholar-athlete society to honor those four-year collegiate student-athletes who have excelled in both the classroom and in athletic competition. The society consists of junior and senior student-athletes from a wide range of sports and majors.
Chi Alpha Sigma recognizes undergraduate college student-athletes who participate in a sport at the varsity intercollegiate level, achieve junior academic standing or higher after their fifth full time semester, and earn a 3.5 and higher cumulative grade point average.
Associate Athletic Director for Academic Support Joanne Maldari, Director of Athletics Allison Rich and interim Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Cyndee Gruden spoke at the ceremony to acknowledge the accomplishment of these xx Wildcats.
