UNH Leads America East with 91% of Student-Athletes on the Spring 2026 Academic Honor Roll

BOSTON – The University of New Hampshire led the America East conference with 91 percent of its winter/spring student-athletes named to the Spring 2026 Academic Honor Roll. A total of 143 Wildcats in six winter/spring-sponsored America East sports were named to the Academic Honor Roll with a split of 106 on the Commissioner's Honor Roll and 37 on the Honor Roll.
Earlier this month, UNH won the 2026 Walter Harrison Academic Cup, which is presented annually to the America East school that records the highest overall GPA.
Commissioner's Honor Roll recognizes student-athletes who recorded a GPA of 3.50 or higher, and those with a GPA between 3.0 and 3.49 are named to the Honor Roll. The qualifying GPA is the semester in which that sport's conference championship is played.
The UNH women's track & field team recorded a sport-high 95 percent (37 of 39) of its student-athletes earning academic recognition and lacrosse led New Hampshire with 97 percent (28 of 29) recording a spring GPA of 3.0 or higher.
The other top 'Cats were swimming and diving (96%; 23 of 24), men's track & field (92%; 34 of 37) and women's basketball (87%; 13 of 15).
UNH's swimming & diving team tied for the third highest percentage among all winter/spring teams in the conference on the Commissioner's Honor Roll at 83 percent (20 of 24). The track & field team tied for the sixth best mark of 79 percent (30 of 39). Lacrosse placed 72 percent (21 of 29) of its roster on the Commissioner's Honor Roll and was followed by women's basketball (67%; 10 of 15) and men's track & field (65%; 24 of 37).
Overall, a conference-record 1,960 student-athletes in winter/spring sports had a 3.0 or higher GPA in the Spring 2026 semester – of which 1,372 had a 3.50 or higher GPA. For UNH, 23 percent of the Wildcats recorded a perfect 4.0 GPA (36 of 158), 67 percent made the Commissioner's Honor Roll, and 91 percent were named to an Academic Honor Roll.
Across all America East schools, women's swimming and diving led all sports with 95 percent of student-athletes achieving a 3.0 or higher GPA; women's basketball (88 percent), women's lacrosse (87 percent) and women's track & field (87 percent) were the other top sports.
America East is proud to have one of most comprehensive academic awards programs in the country, which honors over two-thirds of its student-athletes for their success in the classroom, including its sports Scholar-Athletes and All-Academic honorees, Presidential Scholar-Athletes and its Honor Roll Elite 18 recipients.
