Service Credit Union Student-Athlete of the Week: Anne Challman and Anthony McComb III

DURHAM, N.H. – Sophomore Anne Challman (Lewisburg, Pa.) of the University of New Hampshire gymnastics team and junior Anthony McComb (Dayton, Ohio) of the men's basketball team were named the Service Credit Union Student-Athletes of the Week on Feb. 10.

Anne made history this weekend when she tied for the fourth highest score in school history on the floor exercise. The score of 9.95 was the highest in the competition and helped the Wildcats rally from third to first in the meet. Earlier in the meet Anne also recorded a score 9.75 to place third on the Balance Beem.

Anne's excellent performance helped the Wildcats finish first overall as a team in this weekend's Stick It For The Cure tri-meet between UNH, Brown and Yale with the 'Cats finishing with a team score of 194.700

The UNH gymnastics team is back in action next Sunday, Feb.16, when they travel to the Yale Senior Meet at the Payne Whitney Gymnasium in New Haven, Conn, The start time is scheduled for 1p.m.

Anthony finished with 18 points against visiting UMBC on Feb. 6 while shooting 7-16 from the field. He also grabbed four rebounds and came up with two steals on the defensive end of the floor. His biggest play of the game came on UNHs final possession, when he pulled down the offensive rebound in the right corner and made a fadeaway 3-pointer with only 8.3 seconds left on the clock. The basket gave the Wildcats the go ahead 79-78 score that would ultimately win them the game.

Anthony also played well on Saturday's Alumni Day game vs NJIT. He made 2-3 from 3-point territory and 2-2 from the free throw line. Anthony also brought in three rebounds as he helped the Wildcats secure the 80-69 win.

The UNH men's basketball team will be back in action against the University of Vermont Catamounts on Thursday, Feb.13 with tipoff scheduled at 7 p.m.
