Service Credit Union Student-Athletes of the Week: Emma Reaves and Yoofi Abaka-Amuah

DURHAM, N.H. – Sophomore Emma Reaves (Westminster, Md.) of the University of New Hampshire women's track and field team and senior Yoofi Abaka- Amuah (Worcester, Mass.) of the UNH men's track and field team were named the Service Credit Union Student-Athletes of the Week on April 28.
Emma broke her own UNH record in the shot put with a winning throw of 14.19 meters (46 feet-6.75 inches) at the UNH Wildcat Invitational at the Reggie F. Atkins Track & Field Facility on April 25.
Emma also won gold in the discus throw with a mark of 46.73m (153-3). She recorded a personal best in the hammer throw with a distance of 52.39m (171-10) to give her second place in the event.
Emma's contributions helped lead the UNH women's track & field team to first place at the UNH Wildcat Invitational. She earned a meet-high 28 points to win MVP of the meet.
The UNH women's track & field team returns to action May 9-10 at the America East Championships, which will be hosted at UMass Lowell.
Yoofi broke his own school record in the shot put with a winning throw of 18.92 meters (62-1) at the UNH Wildcat Invitational on April 25. The winning toss came on his fourth attempt. He also won the discus throw with a mark of 52.65m (172-9); all six of his throws were better than the scoring mark by the runner-up.
Yoofi recorded 20 points with the pair of wins to tie atop the MVP rankings at the Wildcat Invitational and help the 'Cats finish atop the team standings.
