Wildcats Edged 5-3 by No. 16 Boston College

UNH goalie Abby Johnson (Walpole, Mass.) was credited with a career-high seven saves.
Mia Garber and Peyton Hale both recorded a goal and an assist and Eva Kluskens had a pair of assists to lead BC's offense. Charlotte Kramer made three saves.
UNH is now 2-6 and BC improved to 6-2.
UP NEXT
- The Wildcats return to action Sept. 27 (3 p.m.) for their America East conference opener at Bryant University.
- UNH then begins an eight-game homestand Sept. 29 (2 p.m.) against Providence College.
FIRST QUARTER
- BC generated nine corners and eight shots but could not get a shot past Johnson in the opening 15 minutes.
SECOND QUARTER
- UNH scored on its first shot of the game to take a 1-0 lead at 17:17. From the middle of the circle, Nicole Poulakis (Ajax, Ontario) swung a pass to the right, where Meijer ripped a shot into the cage.
- BC was awarded a penalty stroke at 18:00 and Hale converted to tie the score, 1-1.
- Hale set up Garber's goal at 19:16 to give the Eagles a 2-1 lead.
- Neither team recorded a shot in the last 10 minutes before halftime.
THIRD QUARTER
- On a short corner, Yani Zhong's reverse-stick shot gave BC at 3-1 lead 31:01.
- UNH earned a penalty corner in the 36th minute and capitalized on that scoring chance. Mejer's direct shot from the top of the circle was stopped by Kramer but Pratt, who initiated the corner with the insert, corralled the ball at the left doorstep and deposited a shot into the cage to trim the deficit to 3-2 at 35:55.
FOURTH QUARTER
- Kluskens' long hit through the middle of the circle was tipped in by Madelieve Drion to extend the visitor's lead to 4-2 at 52:00.
- Madelief Grandjean pushed the margin to 5-2 with 58 seconds on the clock.
- Knuttel gained possession of a loose ball in front of the cage and jammed a shot into the cage with seven seconds remaining.
UNH NOTEBOOK
- Knuttel extended her goal scoring streak to three games. She has scored a goal in 6 of 8 games this season.
- Knuttel leads UNH in both goals (six) and points (13).
- Pratt, a senior captain, scored her second goal of the season -- both on penalty corners.
- Meijer recorded a point in both games this weekend; she tallied an assist Sept. 20 at Fairfield University.
- Johnson's seven saves eclipsed her previous high of five saves established Sept. 6 at Quinnipiac University.
