PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The University of New Hampshire women's basketball team fell to ACC opponent Pittsburgh, 94-39, on Thursday afternoon at Peterson Events Center.

Sophomore guard Eva DeChent (Westchester, N.Y.) led the Wildcats with 20 points, marking her 11th consecutive game in double digits to open the season.

The 'Cats drop to 5-6 on the season, while the Panthers improve to 7-6.

DeChent scored seven early points, going 3-for-3 with a 3-pointer to give UNH a 9-5 lead at the 6:59 mark.
The Panthers capitalized on eight early turnovers by the 'Cats, going on a 22-0 run to take a 27-9 lead with two minutes to go in the first quarter.
Senior Belen Morales Lopez (Alicante, Spain) ended the scoring drought with a bucket in the paint on an assist by DeChent.
The Panthers shot 53% and scored 15 points off turnovers to take a 27-14 lead at the end of the first quarter.
DeChent scored 10 points in the opening frame for the Wildcats.

Pittsburgh started the second quarter on an 11-3 run to increase its lead to 38-17, forcing a UNH timeout at the 7:32 mark.
The Panthers stayed in control, leading 47-25 at halftime.
