NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The University of New Hampshire women's basketball team fell to Merrimack, 59-49, on Monday afternoon at Hammel Court.

Sophomore Eva DeChent (Putnam Valley, N.Y.) led the Wildcats with a game-high 16 points on 6-for-12 shooting.

· Merrimack opened the second half with a 7-2 run, widening their lead to 41-18 at the 5:37 mark.
· UNH responded with a 17-0 run, fueled by seven consecutive points from junior Avery O'Connor (Dedham, Mass.) and capped by a free throw from Eliasson, cutting the deficit to six (41-35) heading into the fourth quarter.

fourth quarter

·      DeChent scored seven straight points for UNH to open the fourth, bringing the Wildcats within three at 45-42 with 7:11 remaining.
·      Merrimack countered with a 7-0 run to regain a 52-42 lead at the 4:24 mark.
·      The Warriors maintained their advantage, ultimately securing the 59-49 victory.
