NEW BRITAIN, Conn. - The Wildcats won eight of the 10 events as the University of New Hampshire swimming and diving team leads Central Connecticut, 118-68, after day one of a two-day meet.

how it happened- The 200-yard freestyle relay of freshman Teagen Jeffers (Bedford, N.H.), sophomore Grace Mahon (Orange, Conn.), senior Annie Jencova (Waikanae, New Zealand), and junior Audrey Mahoney (Downers Grove, Ill.) got things started with a first place finish in a time of 1:38.67.
- Our 100 breaststrokes took first and second, with sophomore Emily Wright (Ventura, Calif.) posting a time of 1:06.77 and freshman Macey Speakman (Coatesville, Pa.) following with 1:10.24 to lead the charge.
- We followed that up with another one-two finish in the 200-butterfly led by Mahon (2:06.21) and senior Grace Sala (Sun Prairie, Wis.), who clocked in at 2:09.80.
- Sophomore Grace Blume (Dedham, Mass.) placed first on 3-meter dive with a 244.43 score.
- We closed the meet strong with another one-two finish in the 200 IM, led by Jeffers (2:10.90) and Wright (2:13.31), before wrapping up Day 1 as graduate Sydney Stockwell (Hopkinton, N.H.), Wright, senior Megumi Komoto (HometownSchaumburg, Ill.), and Mahoney secured the 400-medley relay victory in 3:56.90.
