DURHAM, N.H. – Senior forward Clarence Daniels (Brooklyn Park, Minn.) recorded his 1,000^th career point for the Wildcats but UAlbany prevailed as the University of New Hampshire men's basketball team fell to the Great Danes, 86-79 on Saturday afternoon from Lundholm Gym.

Daniels scored 21 points and collected eight rebounds for the 'Cats. His 1,000^th point came on a free throw in the second half of the game. Daniels is the 36th player in UNH Men's Basketball history to score 1,000 career points.

The Wildcats' record falls to 12-8 (4-3 AE) and UAlbany improves to 11-10 (3-3 AE).

FIRST HALF:   
·       Daniels had the first five points for the Wildcats, taking a 5-4 lead over the first four minutes.
·       The Great Danes took control early, going on a 16-5 run putting them ahead of the Wildcats, 25-12.
·       With 6:44 to go, the 'Cats responded with a 12-0 run, bringing the deficit to one, 25-24.
·       UAlbany pulled away to a six-point lead, 41-35 with a minute to go.
· Junior forward Trey Woodyard (London, Ohio) and grad student forward Jaxson Baker (Phoenix, Ariz.) sank four free throws to bring the Wildcats within two of the Great Danes heading into half time, 41-39

SECOND HALF:  
·       The Great Danes brought their lead back to four out of halftime, but a dunk from Daniels and a three-point basket from Baker gave the 'Cats a 48-47 lead.
·       UAlbany held a steady lead throughout much of the half, extending it to 73-61 with 6:05 to go.
·       UAlbany led the remainder of the game, draining five free throws in the final 30 seconds to secure the 86-79 victory.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:  
·       Sophomore guard Rex Sunderland (Kaysville, Utah) was 3-3 from the field.
·       Six different Wildcats recorded steals in the contest, Woodyard led the team with three.
·       UNH forced 16 UAlbany turnovers.
