Baker, Daniels Lead Wildcats to Victory Over UMass Lowell, 89-73

LOWELL, Mass. – Grad student forward Jaxson Baker (Phoenix, Ariz.) and senior forward Clarence Daniels (Brooklyn Park, Minn.) combined for 60 points as the University of New Hampshire men's basketball team took down UMass Lowell, 89-73 on Saturday evening from the Tsongas Center.
Baker scored a career high 28 points while Daniels scored 32 and collected 12 rebounds for his ninth double double of the season.
The Wildcats' record improves to 13-8 (5-3 AE) and UMass Lowell's fall to 15-6 (6-2 AE).

FIRST HALF:
· The first 10:30 of the half was evenly matched seeing 10 lead changes. The largest lead in that time came when UMass Lowell led by four.
· Daniels and grad student forward Naim Miller (Pittsburgh, Pa.) sank back-to-back three-point shots to take a 37-33 lead and force a River Hawk timeout with 4:36 to go in the half.
· Two more points from Daniels and a three from Baker extended the Wildcat lead to five, 42-37 with 2:01 remaining.
· Baker knocked down two free throws with under a minute left to bring the 'Cats to the largest lead of the half, 46-39
SECOND HALF:
· The 'Cats came out hot, extending the lead to 12, 51-39, with a layup from junior guard Ahmad Robinson (West Orange, N.J.) and a three from junior forward Trey Woodyard (London, Ohio).
· The River Hawks scored seven unanswered to close the gap, but Daniels responded with nine points of his own to hold the Wildcat lead.
· UNH kept the offense coming, breaking open the lead to 20, 79-59, with 6:27 left in the game.
· Baker drained a three-pointer from the logo and put a cap on the game for the Wildcats, 89-73.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
· Baker and Daniels combined for 34 of the Wildcats 46 points in the first half.
· The UNH captains also combined for a perfect night from the free throw line, 7-7. Baker sank five while Daniels sank two.
· Daniels averaged 1.000 point per minute in the game, scoring 32 points over the 32 minutes he played.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
· Daniels recorded his team leading ninth double double in the contest.
· Sophomore guard Rex Sunderland (Kaysville, Utah) and Baker both recorded a block for the Wildcats.
· The 'Cats handed the River Hawks their second loss in ten games.
