Lee Scores First Goal of Season in 4-1 Loss at Ohio State

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Senior captain Lindsay Lee (Eindhoven, Netherlands) scored her first goal of the season but the University of New Hampshire field hockey team was defeated 4-1 by Ohio State University in Day 1 action of the Buckeye Invitational at Buckeye Varsity Field.
Jemma Woods (Frimley, England), the defending America East Defensive Player of the Week, made eight saves.
OSU was led offensively by Makenna Webster and Julie Rodijk, both of whom scored two goals. Webster also had an assist. Abby Danson stopped four shots.
UNH is now 2-1 while Ohio State remains unbeaten at 3-0.

FIRST QUARTER
- Lee scored off a rebound at the left post to give UNH a 1-0 lead at 8:11. The initial shot by Tamera Cookman (Woking, England) was stopped by Danson.
SECOND QUARTER
- Rodijk scored on a direct shot from the top of the circle on a penalty corner to level the score, 1-1, at 16:36. Delaney Lawler and Webster set up the tally.
- Webster gave the home team a 2-1 lead with 1:30 remaining in the first half. Brenna Bough was credited with an assist.
THIRD QUARTER
- Rodijk struck again, this time off a pass from Anne Marie Krebs, 3:59 into the second half on a shot from the left wing to extend OSU's lead to 3-1.
FOURTH QUARTER
- Webster closed the scoring with an unassisted goal at 47:13.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Ohio State finished with a 16-10 shot advantage that included 12-5 on goal.
- The Buckeyes also had an 11-14 edge in penalty corners.
- Neither team made a defensive save.
