Rodriguez scores his first two goals as a Wildcat

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Grad student midfielder Iñaki Rodríguez (Santiago, Chile) scored his first two goals as a UNH Wildcat as the University of New Hampshire men's soccer team defeated William & Mary, 4-2, on Thursday afternoon from Martin Family Stadium at Albert-Daly Field.

Freshman midfielder Austin Bush (Southampton, Mass.) scored his first collegiate goal for the game winner, while grad student forward Eli Goldman (Minneapolis, Minn.) posted his first goal of the season.

The Wildcats improve to 2-0-1 (0-0-0 AE), while the Tribe fall to 1-2-0 (0-0-0 CAA).

Rodriguez opened the scoring for the Wildcats in the sixth minute (5:40) as he intercepted a pass between William & Mary defenders and found the back of the net.

Aidan Morrison tied the game at 1-1 in the 11th minute (10:58).
Goldman regained the lead for the 'Cats in the 19th minute (18:02) when he collected a rebound off a shot by grad student midfielder Bilal Kamal (London, England) and finished the goal in the left side of the net.

Bush capitalized on a penalty kick in the 38th minute (37:25) as he buried the shot to the top right corner of the goal.

Rodriguez scored his second goal of the game in the 54th minute (53:04) when he rocketed a shot from outside the box. Grad student midfielder Atila Ashrafi (Cologne, Germany) notched an assist on the goal.

Lucas Caldas scored on a rebound off a free kick on net from Alfredo Bozalongo in the 76th minute (75:30), but that would be the final goal of the game for the 4-2 final.
