No. 23 Wildcats open the season at VCU on Aug. 24.
KANSAS CITY – Senior midfielder Yannick Bright (Milan, Italy) and senior forward Eli Goldman (Minneapolis, Minn.) of the No. 23 University of New Hampshire men's soccer team have been named to the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Men's Players to Watch List.
Bright is a two-time All-American earning 2021 First Team accolades and 2023 Third Team honors. He was named the America East Midfielder of the Year in 2021 and 2022, while he was also selected to the First Team All-Northeast Region and First Team All-America East in 2021 and 2022. Bright was a 2021 MAC Hermann Trophy Semifinalist. Last season he was named the America East Men's Soccer Scholar Athlete of the Year.
Goldman earned 2022 Second Team All-Northeast Region honors and achieved First Team All-America East accolades as he led the team with nine goals and 19 points. He was named to the America East All-Tournament Team as the Wildcats won the championship. Also in 2022, Goldman was on the America East All-Academic Team and Academic All-District Team.
UNH kicks off the 2023 season on Thursday, Aug. 24 at VCU at 8:15 p.m. The home-opener is versus Boston University on Sunday, Aug. 27 at 5 p.m. at Wildcat Stadium.
UNH has won four America East Tournament titles winning in 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2022. UNH went 15-4-1 (.775) overall in the 2022 season and was ranked No. 21 in the final United Soccer Coaches National Poll. UNH won the America East Tournament championship versus UAlbany to advance to the NCAA Tournament for the sixth consecutive year and seventh time overall as UNH defeated Seton Hall, 2-1, in the first round at Wildcat Stadium.
