Four Wildcats scored in double figures in America East win Saturday afternoon
DURHAM, NH. – Junior Clarence Daniels (Brooklyn Park, Minn.) led the Wildcats with 19 points as the University of New Hampshire men's basketball team surpassed UMBC to win 75-66 at Lundholm Gymnasium Saturday afternoon.
With the win, UNH improves to 12-13 (7-6 AE) and UMBC falls to 17-12 (7-7 AE).

FIRST HALF
- Graduate student Matt Herasme (Chester, N.Y.) netted the game's first points with a drive to the paint and a strong layup.
- Herasme made the first three of the game with 15:03 left in the first half to give the Wildcats an 11-8 lead.
- Before the three-pointer, the first 16 points of the game came by way of layups in the paint.
- With UMBC within four points, junior Nick Johnson (Bronx, N.Y.) made a crucial steal at the 8:38 mark that led to a layup from freshman Christian Moore (Virginia Beach, Va.) to increase the Wildcat lead to six.
- The Retrievers countered with an 11-5 run to tie the game at 28-28 when junior Kyree Brown (Oakland, Calif.) made a long three-pointer with 4:49 remaining in the half to break the tie.
- UNH went into the halftime locker room up 34-30 with Herasme leading the way with 13 points, going 6-10 from the field.
- Brown and Johnson each had two steals, contributing to the team's eight total takeaways in the first half.
SECOND HALF
- Daniels scored the first seven points of the second half for the 'Cats, netting two free throws, a layup, and a three-pointer within the first four minutes.
- UMBC answered with a 7-2 run to take the lead 50-48 with 11:18 left in the game.
- Dion Brown scored six straight points for UMBC to tie the game up at 57 with 7:39 left in the half.
- The Wildcats responded with a run of their own, outscoring the Retrievers with an 8-1 run to give UNH a 69-60 lead with 1:34 remaining in the game.
- Daniels led the 'Cats with 13 points in the second half as UNH held on to win 75-66 over UMBC.
NOTEWORTHY
- UNH now leads the all-time series against UMBC with a 22-21 record. The 'Cats are now 11-7 when hosting the Retrievers at Lundholm Gymnasium.
- The Wildcats had four players score 10+ points and three players score 17+ points.
- The 'Cats are now 7-6 when allowing 60-69 points.
- Freshman Ridvan Tutic (Novi Pazar, Serbia) notched eight points and nine rebounds to lead the 'Cats on the glass.
