Robinson Leads UNH to 80-71 Comeback Victory Over Columbia

DURHAM, N.H. – Junior guard Ahmad Robinson (West Orange, N.J.) recorded a career high as a Wildcat with 24 points in the University of New Hampshire men's basketball team's Sunday afternoon comeback victory over Columbia, 80-71 at Lundholm Gymnasium.
Senior forward Clarence Daniels (Brooklyn Park, Minn.) dropped 15 for the 'Cats and collected seven rebounds.
The Wildcats' record advances to 6-3 (0-0 AE) and Columbia falls to 6-3 (0-0 IVY).

FIRST HALF:
- Columbia went on an early 10-2 run to establish a 20-13 lead over four minutes of play.
- A basket from grad student forward Jaxson Baker (Phoenix, Ariz.) and back-to-back threes from graduate student guard Naim Miller (Pittsburgh, Pa.) brought the Wildcats back into the game and gave them a 21-20 point lead with 6:39 left in the half.
- Daniels hit another three for the Wildcats advancing the Wildcat lead to 24-22.
- The Lions finished the half on a 13-4 run extending their lead to 35-28.
SECOND HALF:
- UNH opened the half with five quick points from Daniels and Baker bringing the Lion lead to three, 35-32.
- Freshman forward Davide Poser (Veneto, Italy) drained a mid-range jumper to tie the game at 42-42 with 14:11 left.
- A successful and-one play from Daniels put the 'Cats out front, 45-44 for the first time since the first half.
- Junior forward Trey Woodyard (London, Ohio) stole the ball and passed to Robinson who went for the layup and was fouled. Robinson went on to make both free throws advancing the lead for UNH.
- Baker sank a three with only 1:30 remaining extending the lead 74-66.
- Baker hit a layup with 34 second left securing the win for the Wildcats.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- The Wildcats outscored Columbia 52-36 in the second half.
- Robinson lead the team in both points (24) and rebounds (8).
- With the win Sunday afternoon, UNH remains undefeated at home.
- Both Baker and junior forward Paul Gakmar (Perth, Australia) recorded blocks for the 'Cats.
