Wildcats Secure Victory Over the Blue Devils

DURHAM, N.H. – Sophomore guard Breezie Williams (Canton, Ohio) led the 'Cats with a season-high 13 points as the University of New Hampshire women's basketball team defeated Central Connecticut University, 79-64 on Saturday Afternoon at Lundholm Gymnasium.
The Wildcats' record improves to 4-5 (0-0-AE) and Central Connecticut University falls to 1-7 (0-0-NE).

· Senior guard Adara Groman (Scituate, Mass) started the 'Cats off strong with the first free throw making two shots bringing the score to 2-0 putting the 'Cats in the lead.
· Junior Kenzie Matulonis (Raynham, Mass) scored a three-pointer for the 'Cats, bringing the score to 7-0 as the 'Cats lead.
· Senior guard Belen Morales Lopez (Alicante, Spain) made 2 baskets off a free throw putting the 'Cats back in the lead 13-12.

· Center Paige Cote (Sanford, Maine) scored a 2 baskets shortly after, bringing the 'Cats up 22-18.
· Guard Avery O'Connor (Dedham, Mass) scored her first three-pointer of the game bringing the 'Cats up 25-18.
· Freshman Sharmela Reid (Montreal, Quebec) scored her first basket of the game with 4:49 left.
· The first half ended with the 'Cats in the lead 38-19.
THIRD QUARTER:
· Senior guard Belen Morales Lopez scored the first points of the quarter for UNH, with a basket, as the 'Cats still lead 42-25.
· Sophomore guard, Avery O'Connor (Dedham, Mass) scores two baskets off of a free throw 2:47 minutes into the quarter.
· With 3:41 left, senior guard Bella Stuart (Clifton Park, N.Y.) scores makes two points from a free throw bringing the 'Cats up 52-35.

FOURTH QUARTER:
· 40 seconds into the quarter, senior guard Adara Groman (Scituate, Mass) ran up for the layup and scored two points keeping the 'Cats in the lead 60-42.

· Sophomore guard, Karolina Andersson (Söderköping, Sweden) scored her first three-pointer with 4:10 left in the last quarter.
