STORRS, CONN. – Grad student forward Jaxson Baker (Phoenix, Ariz.) scored a career high 20 points as the University of New Hampshire men's basketball team fell to defending National Champions #4 UConn, 84-64 on Monday evening from Gampel Pavilion.
Junior guard Ahmad Robinson (West Orange, N.J.) and senior forward Clarence Daniels (Brooklyn, Minn.) both scored 19 points for the Wildcats. Robinson's share marked a career high as a Wildcat.
The Wildcats' record falls to 4-3 (0-0 AE) and UConn's advances to 7-0 (0-0 Big East).

FIRST HALF:
- Daniels opened scoring for the Wildcats, but the Huskies responded with a quick 6-0 run over two minutes to take the lead.
- Three pointers from Daniels and Robinson tied the game at 8-8.
- UConn later went on a 20-3 run pulling ahead of the Wildcats with 9:00 remaining in the half.
- Baker drained four three-pointers in four straight drives over the span of two minutes to cut the UConn led to ten with 5:03 left.
SECOND HALF:
- The Huskies opened the half on a 13-3 run followed by a six-minute offensive drought for the Wildcats as UConn expanded their lead to 20 points.
- UConn pulled away to a nearly 30-point lead, but UNH responded with a 13-3 run with 3:30 remaining.
- The Wildcats added seven more unanswered points to cut the lead to 79-60.
- Robinson sank six free throws in the final five minutes for the Wildcats.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- The Wildcats were 7-10 from the three-point line in the first half. Of those seven, Baker had four, tying his career high for a full game, in the opening half.
- Baker had a total of six made three-point field goals. The last Wildcat to score five or more in a game was Marco Foster when he drained five at NJIT on February 23, 2022.
- All the UNH free throw attempts came in the second half.
- 58 of the Wildcats points were scored by Baker, Daniels, and Robinson.
