DURHAM, N.H. – Ousmane Sylla scored the game-winner in the first half for the Tigers as the No. 8 seed University of New Hampshire men's soccer team fell to No. 9 seed Clemson, 1-0, on Sunday evening in front of a crowd of 3,745 at Wildcat Stadium in the Third Round of the NCAA Tournament.

The Wildcats conclude the season with a 13-3-4 overall record, while Clemson improves to 12-3-5 and advances to the Elite 8 to face No. 16 seed Stanford Friday, December 1.

This was the third appearance in the Round of 16 for the Wildcats and first time at home.

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

In the 35th minute (34:10) Clemson scored the game's only goal when Sylla fired a volley inside the six-yard box into the left side of the net. Alex Meinhard was awarded the assist.
The Wildcats outshot Clemson, 13-5, but were unable to find the equalizer for the 1-0 final.

The Wildcats tallied three shots on goal and the Tigers took two.
UNH took seven corner kicks, while Clemson posted four.
