ALBANY, N.Y. -- Junior running back Dylan Laube (Westhampton, N.Y.) rushed for 202 yards and three touchdowns to propel the University of New Hampshire football team to Saturday night's 28-23 victory against UAlbany at Tom & Mary Casey Stadium.

Laube established those career highs in rushing yards and touchdowns on another career high of 32 carries. He also eclipsed 1,000 career rushing yards with 1,084.

Sophomore quarterback Max Brosmer (Roswell, Ga.) was an efficient 11 of 14 for 73 yards and a touchdown. Redshirt freshman Joey Corcoran (Montreal, Quebec) was the top target with five catches for 34 yards, including his first career TD.

Sophomores Josiah Silver (Hampton, Va.) and Ryan Toscano (Bedford, N.H.) tied for the team lead with five tackles. Toscano and redshirt freshman Brendan Tighe (Lowell, Mass.) both forced a fumble and sophomore Aaron Oroh (Dover, N.H.) recovered a fumble, while Silver recorded one of five UNH sacks.

UAlbany quarterback Reese Poffenberger completed 18 of 27 passes for 264 yards and two TDs; he also ran the ball 12 times for 40 yards. Todd Sibley had 13 ruhses for 105 yards and one score.

FIRST QUARTER

The Wildcats took a 7-0 lead on a 2-yard touchdown pass from Brosmer to Corcoran at 4:22 and PAT kick by redshirt freshman Nick Mazzie (Boxford, Mass.).

SECOND QUARTER

UNH extended the lead to 14-0 with a 13-play, 75-yard drive of 6 minutes, 11 seconds. Laube capped the drive with a 2-yard touchdown run at 4:35.
UAlbany converted a 3^rd-and-14 from the UNH 33 with four seconds remaining and John Opalko made a 36-yard field goal as time expired to lift the Great Danes within 14-3.

THIRD QUARTER

Oroh recovered a muffed punt at the UA 9-yard line and Laube rushed up the middle for a touchdown on the next play to give UNH a 21-3 lead at 9:48.
Sibley's 15-yard TD run lifted the Great Danes within 21-10 at 5:33.

FOURTH QUARTER

Poffenbarger's 29-yard touchdown pass to Thomas Greaney trimmed the margin to 21-16 at 2:47. UAlbany went for a 2-point conversion, and on a trick play Julian Hicks' pass to Poffenbarger failed.
On the next possession, Laube had three consecutive rushes of 14, 24 and 37 yards to quickly push UNH's lead to 28-16 at 1:49.
The Great Danes responded with a 6-play, 75-yard drive of 47 seconds to close within 28-23 at 1:08.
Senior wide receiver and captain Brian Espanet (Hopedale, Mass.) recovered the ensuing onsides kick to secure the victory.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

The Wildcats' ground game amassed 260 yards and gave the 'Cats the edge in time of possession at 37:03.
UNH limited the Great Danes to 10 points through 57 minutes.
New Hampshire won the turnover battle with one takeaway and no giveaways.

Laube also had one punt return for one yard for a total of 203 all-purpose yards.
In addition to scoring his first career TD, Corcoran recorded career highs in both receptions and receiving yards.
Sophomore Sean Lehane (Milford, Mass.) punted five times with an average of 40.6 yards, a long of 54 and four punts inside the 20.
UNH's three solo sacks were recorded by Silver, sophomore Nathan Kapongo (Westbrook, Maine) and redshirt freshman Dylan Ruiz (Kissimmee, Fla.),
Freshman running back Myles Thomason (Montclair, N.J.) recorded his first career catch (for four yards).

New Hampshire has a 6-5 lifetime record against UAlbany.
The Great Danes had won each of the previous three meeting's dating back to UNH's 24-10 home win in 2018.
The Wildcats had lost three straight road games in this series since their 24-14 win in the 2014 season.
