Four Wildcats Named to MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List

UNH's four selections are the most of any school
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Junior midfielder Yannick Bright (Milan, Italy), senior midfielder Rory O'Driscoll (Minneapolis, Minn.), senior goalkeeper Jassem Koleilat (Dubai, United Arab Emirates) and graduate student Tola Showunmi (Enfield, England) of the No. 9 nationally-ranked University of New Hampshire men's soccer program have been named to the 2022 Men's MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List as announced by United Soccer Coaches and the Missouri Athletic Club. The Hermann Trophy is awarded annually to the nation's top male and female college soccer players.
The Wildcats' four selections are the most of any school. A total of 38 NCAA Division I men's soccer players were named to the watch list.
Bright is the only athlete on the list that was a semifinalist for the award last year. He was a 2021 First Team All-American and the New England Soccer Journal Division I Player of the Year, while he was the America East Midfielder of the Year.
O'Driscoll earned First Team All-Northeast Region honors last year and was the 2020 America East Midfielder of the Year.
Koleilat was second in the nation in goals against average in 2021 and was a First Team All-Northeast Region selection.
Showunmi was named the 2021 America East Striker of the Year, while he was also selected to the All-Northeast Region First Team.
UNH kicks off the 2022 season on Thursday, Aug. 25 with a top-20 matchup at No. 20 and four-time national champion Maryland at 6 PM at Ludwig Field. The game will be shown live on national television on ESPNU with Joe Malfa and Kaylyn Kyle on the call. This will be the first-ever meeting between the two programs.
