DURHAM, N.H. – Senior Lisa Olsson (Stockholm, Sweden) of the University of New Hampshire skiing team was named to the 2021-22 Academic All-America Women's At-Large Third Team on Wednesday by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Olsson was one of four Wildcats named to the 2021-22 Academic All-District At-Large Team this past May; all four 'Cats were on the All-America ballot.
Olsson graduated this spring as a dual major in business administration: information systems & business analytics and business administration: finance with a perfect 4.00 cumulative GPA. She is a four-time National Collegiate All-Academic Ski Team honoree as well as a two-time inductee into Chi Alpha Sigma, the National College Athlete Honor Society.
Olsson capped the 2022 season with a ninth-place finish in the giant slalom at the EISA Championships. During the EISA carnival season, she recorded an 18th-place finish in the slalom at both Colby and Saint Michael's, as well as 18th place in the giant slalom at Middlebury.
As a freshman in 2019, Olsson earned All-America Second Team accolades by placing eighth in the giant slalom at the NCAA Skiing Championships.
"We have watched Lisa excel on the hill and in the classroom the past four years," UNH alpine head coach Brian Blank said. "We are excited for Lisa, our ski team, and the University that Lisa was named an Academic All-American."

The Academic All-America At-Large Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for combined performance in athletic competition and the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions, and the districts are divided geographically.
UNH is in NCAA Division I, District 1, which is comprised of all six New England states and New York (thereby including six Ivy League schools).
The 14 sports included on the women's at-large ballot are: beach volleyball, bowling, fencing, field hockey, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, rowing, skiing, swimming & diving, tennis and water polo.
Dating back to 1952, UNH has received 23 CoSIDA Academic All-America Team accolades. Prior to Olsson, the most recent Wildcat honoree was Edward Speidel, who was named to the Men's Track/Cross Country Second Team in 2019.
Olsson is the fourth UNH skier to be named an Academic All-American. Veronique Archambault-Leger was a 2009 Women's At-Large Third Team honoree as well as a 2010 Women's At-Large Second Team selection. Raleigh Goessling was voted to the 2016 Men's At-Large Second Team and Lizzie Gill was selected to the 2017 Women's At-Large Third Team.
