Guadarrama and Martinez named to AE All-Conference Second Team

DURHAM, N.H. - Senior forward Nick Guadarrama (Newington, Conn.) and Jayden Martinez (Cibolo, Texas) of the University of New Hampshire men's basketball team were named to the America East All-Conference Second Team, which was announced on Friday afternoon by the conference office.

Martinez, who was a AE First Team selection last season, has started all 26 games he has played in this season for the Wildcats, averaging 15.0 points per game and 5.5 rebounds per contest. Martinez ranks seventh in America East in scoring and his 5.0 rebounds per game is 10th among AE players. His 47% field goal percentage ranks eight in the conference, while his 42% from the three-point arc ranks third. Martinez has posted 20+ points in eight games for the Wildcats in his senior season.

"First of all, congratulations to all of the players that were selected and honored," said UNH head coach Bill Herrion. "We are really proud of both Jayden and Nick being selected to the Second Team. They have both had a major impact in our success this year and throughout their careers. Now we need them to be great leaders as we prepare for the conference tournament."

Guadarrama, who was Second Team honoree last season, has started all 24 games he has played in and ranks second on the team in scoring with 12.8 points per game, along with 5.3 rebounds per contest.

The No. 3 seeded Wildcats return to action against No. 6 Binghamton in the America East quarterfinals on Sunday, March 6 from Lundholm Gymnasium (1pm) on ESPN+. Tickets are on sale now.
