Moise Bombito Named MAC Hermann Trophy Semifinalist

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Junior back Moise Bombito (Montreal, Quebec) of the University of New Hampshire men's soccer program has been named a 2022 MAC Hermann Trophy Semifinalist as announced by United Soccer Coaches and the Missouri Athletic Club. There are a total of 15 semifinalists.
The Hermann Trophy is awarded annually to the nation's top college soccer player. The finalists will be named for the award on Wednesday, Dec. 14. The 2022 MAC Hermann Trophy banquet will be held at the historic Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis on Friday, Jan. 6, 2022 to formally announce this year's winner.
This is the fourth straight season and also the fourth time in program history the Wildcats have had at least one player named a semifinalist for the prestigious award as Josh Bauer was a semifinalist in the 2019 season, Bridger Hansen was a semifinalist in 2020, and Yannick Bright (Milan, Italy) and Adam Savill were 2021 semifinalists.
Bombito was named the 2022 America East Defender of the Year, while he also earned first team All-America East accolades. He tied for third on the team with four goals and tied for second with two game winners. Bombito led a defense that was third in the nation with a 0.500 team goals against average.
UNH went 15-4-1 (.775) overall in the 2022 season. The Wildcats went 6-1-0 in America East earning the regular season championship for the fourth straight season and their fifth regular season championship in program history. UNH then won its fourth America East Tournament championship and made its seventh NCAA Tournament appearance and sixth straight. The Wildcats defeated Seton Hall, 2-1, in the first round at Wildcat Stadium and then tied No. 10 seed Florida International, 2-2, in the second round but lost the 12 round-shootout 10-9.
The Wildcats posted 11 shutouts and outscored the opposition, 38-12.
