NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – Freshman guard Karolina Andersson (Soderkoping, Sweden), freshman guard Avery O'Connor (Dedham, Mass.) and freshman guard Breezie Williams (Canton, Ohio) all scored over ten points to help push the University of New Hampshire women's basketball team past Merrimack College, 63-60 on Wednesday afternoon from Hammel Court.

Andersson led the charge with 16, O'Connor had 13 and Williams drained 11 points for the 'Cats.

The Wildcats' record improves to 5-7 (0-0 AE) and Merrimack's falls to 1-9 (0-0 NEC).

FIRST QUARTER:
· O'Connor did not waste time getting the Wildcats on the board as she drained a three just seven seconds into the game.
· UNH held Merrimack to just three points for just over five minutes, outscoring the Warriors 10-3 during that time.

SECOND QUARTER:
· Junior guard Adara Groman (Hopkinton, Mass.) had back-to-back driving layups to give the Wildcats a 21-13 lead early in the quarter.
· Senior center Brooke Kane (Derry, N.H.) had four rebounds in the quarter for a total of six in the first half, five defensive and one offensive.

THIRD QUARTER:
· Kane and O'Connor both had five points in the quarter.
· The 'Cats went on an 8-2 run to tie the game at 42. The run included back-to-back threes from Williams and O'Connor forcing a Merrimack timeout late in the quarter.

FOURTH QUARTER:
· O'Connor kept the threes coming in the fourth quarter. A jumper from her and Andersson gave the Wildcats a 53-47 lead with five minutes left.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
·       UNH outscored the Warriors 14-8 in free throws.
·       The Wildcats collected 39 rebounds compared to the Warriors' 26.
·       UNH recorded the edge in points off the bench, 16-8.
