Moise Bombito & Marc Hubbard Win ECAC Major Awards

Bombito and Bright named All-ECAC First Team.
DANBURY, Conn. – Junior back Moise Bombito (Montreal, Quebec) of the University of New Hampshire men's soccer program has been named the ECAC Defensive Player of the Year and head coach Marc Hubbard has been named the ECAC Coach of the Year. Also, Bombito and junior midfielder Yannick Bright (Milan, Italy) were selected to the All-ECAC First Team.
This is the third time in program history that a Wildcat has earned the ECAC Defensive Player of the Year Award as Josh Bauer won the honor in 2018 and 2019. This is the third time that Hubbard has been named the ECAC Coach of the Year as he received the award in 2019 and 2021.
Bombito was named a second team All-American and was a semifinalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy, while he recently attended the MLS College Showcase. He won the 2022 America East Defender of the Year Award and earned first team All-America East accolades. He tied for third on the team with four goals and tied for second with two game winners. Bombito led a defense that was third in the nation with a 0.500 team goals against average.
Hubbard has a 101-29-17 (.750) record at UNH as the Wildcats have made six straight NCAA Tournament appearances and have won four America East Tournament championships (2018, 2019, 2020 & 2022). The UNH coaching staff led by Hubbard has been named the America East Staff of the Year (2017, 2019, 2020, 2021 & 2022), Northeast Region Staff of the Year (2019 & 2021) and Eastern Region Staff of the Year (2017).
Bright was named a third team All-American and also attended the MLS College Showcase. He was named the America East Midfielder of the Year for the second straight season, while also earned First Team All-America East honors for the second consecutive year. The 2021 First Team All-American and 2021 MAC Hermann Trophy Semifinalist, tallied two goals and one assist for five points.
UNH went 15-4-1 (.775) overall in the 2022 season and was ranked No. 21 in the final United Soccer Coaches National Poll. The Wildcats were 6-1-0 in America East earning the regular season championship for the fourth straight season and their fifth regular season championship in program history. UNH then won its fourth America East Tournament championship and made its seventh NCAA Tournament appearance and sixth straight. The Wildcats defeated Seton Hall, 2-1, in the first round at Wildcat Stadium and then tied No. 10 seed Florida International, 2-2, in the second round but lost the 12 round-shootout 10-9.
The Wildcats posted 11 shutouts and outscored the opposition, 38-12. UNH's .590 team goals against average was ranked third in the nation and its .550 shutout percentage was sixth.
