'Cats Open Season with Home Victory Against Brandeis, 79-47 on Monday Night

Kyree Brown and Clarence Daniels each tallied 18 points in the UNH victory
DURHAM, N.H. -- Junior guard Kyree Brown (Oakland, Calif.) and junior forward Clarence Daniels (Brooklyn Park, Minn.) of the University of New Hampshire men's basketball team each scored 18 points apiece in the 79-47 victory against Brandeis in the season opener on Monday night at Lundholm Gymnasium in non-conference play.
Daniels finished the game 7-for-12 from the field, while adding 10 rebounds, four assists and two steals. Brown shot 7-of-10 with five assists. Graduate student guard Matt Herasme (Chester, N.Y.) chipped in with 11 points (4-6 FG) and a game-high 12 rebounds.
The Wildcats owned a 39-25 lead at halftime, as Daniels paced the Wildcats with 11 points, 5-9 FG and seven rebounds through 20 minutes.
UNH out rebounded Brandeis, 44-26 for the game. The 'Cats shot 44% in the first half as a team and followed that up shooting 56% in the second half, along with 58% from the three-point arc.
Toby Harris notched a team-high 16 points in the loss for the Judges.
The Wildcats return to action Friday, November 11 against Fairfield. Game time Lundholm Gymnasium is 1 p.m. on Veteran's Day, the game can been seen live on ESPN3.
