UNH returns to action versus #13 Harvard on Tuesday at the Whitt
BURLINGTON, Vt. – Joe Leahy scored the game winner for the Catamounts as the University of New Hampshire men's hockey team fell to Vermont, 2-1, on Saturday evening at Gutterson Fieldhouse in Hockey East action.
The Wildcats fall to 3-8-1 (0-8-1 Hockey East), while the Catamounts improve to 4-6-1 (2-6-0 Hockey East).

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Catamounts took an early 1-0 lead at 12:47 of the first period when Dawson Good took a shot from the slot that went through traffic and to the back of the net.
- Vermont extended its lead to 2-0 at 10:39 of the third period when Leahy fired a shot from the slot to the upper glove side corner of the net.
- Freshman forward Kristaps Skrastins (Grobina, Latvia) cut the UVM lead to 2-1 at 12:37 when he redirected a pass by sophomore defenseman Colton Huard (Foothill Ranch, Calif.) from right in front of the net to the stick side of the goal. Senior forward Ryan Black (Pomfret, Conn.) also posted an assist on the goal.
- The Wildcats went with an empty net with a minute remaining but were unable to score the equalizer for the 2-1 final score.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Senior goaltender David Fessenden (Parker, Colo.) recorded 28 saves, while Gabe Carriere tallied 22 saves to earn the win.
- UVM outshot UNH, 30-23.
