#22 UNH Wins Three America East Major Awards

#1 seed UNH takes on #5 seed Binghamton in semifinals on Nov. 10 at Wildcat Stadium.
BOSTON – The No. 22 University of New Hampshire men's soccer team won three of the six America East major awards asannounced by the conference. Junior Yannick Bright (Milan, Italy) was voted the Midfielder of the Year, junior Moise Bombito (Montreal, Quebec) earned Defender of the Year accolades and the Wildcats received the Coaching Staff of the Year Award.
The Wildcats (12-4-0, 6-1-0 AE) are the America East Regular Season Champions for the fourth consecutive season and are the No. 1 seed in the six-team America East Tournament. UNH will play No. 5 seed Binghamton in the America East Semifinals on Thursday, Nov. 10 at Wildcat Stadium at 6 p.m. Tickets can be purchased on UNHWildcats.com.
With a win, the Wildcats would play in the championship game on Sunday, Nov. 13 at Wildcat Stadium at 2 p.m. versus No. 2 seed Vermont or No. 3 seed UAlbany. UNH is looking to win its fourth America East Tournament in the last five seasons.
Bright wins this honor for the second straight season. He has two goals and one assist for five points. Last year, he was a first team All-American and a MAC Hermann Trophy semifinalist.
Bombito earns this accolade in his first season as a Wildcat. He is a member of a defense that is ranked sixth in the nation for team goals against average (0.562). Bombito has posted three goals for six points over 12 games.
The staff of head coach Marc Hubbard, assistant coach Brad Campion, assistant coach Jon Shaad, goalkeeper coach David Williams, director of operations Panos Galatas and director of player development Alan Kehoe won the Staff of the Year Award. This is the fifth time in six seasons that a staff led by Hubbard won this award as the Wildcats also won it in 2017, 2019, 2020, 2021. This is the first time in conference history that a staff has won this honor four straight seasons.
America East previously announced the All-Conference awards as the Wildcats won 14 accolades.
