Jassem Koleilat Named America East Defensive Player of the Week

Koleilat posted two shutouts on the week.
BOSTON – Senior goalkeeper Jassem Koleilat (Dubai, United Arab Emirates) of the University of New Hampshire men's soccer team has been named the America East Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in the 1-0 win at Yale (Oct. 18) and the 1-0 shutout of Binghamton (Oct. 22). This is the second time in his career that Koleilat has earned this accolade as he also won this award on Nov. 3, 2021.
Koleilat went 2-0-0 on the week with two shutouts. He made three saves as UNH defeated Yale 1-0 including a save on a penalty kick in the 87th minute. Then he posted one save in the 1-0 win versus Binghamton. Koleilat has eight shutouts this season and 16 for his UNH career. His 0.511 goals against average is fourth in the nation and his eight shutouts are fifth.
The Wildcats (11-3-0, 5-0-0 AE) return to action on Friday Oct. 28 at 7 p.m. when they take on No. 10 Vermont (12-2-1, 4-1-0 AE) at Virtue Field at 7 p.m. on AE.TV. The Wildcats are in first place and the Catamounts are in second place in the America East standings. UNH has won nine straight games and have outscored the opposition 20-3 during this stretch.
