Wildcats play in front of 6,179 fans at the Whittemore Center.
DURHAM, N.H. – Sophomore forward Liam Devlin (Needham, Mass.) and senior defenseman Kalle Eriksson (Leksand, Sweden) each found the back of the net for the Wildcats but the University of New Hampshire men's hockey team fell to Boston College, 4-2, on Saturday evening in the home opener in front of 6,179 fans at the Whittemore Center.
The Wildcats fall to 2-1-0 (0-1-0 Hockey East), while the Eagles improve to 1-1-0 (1-0-0 Hockey East).

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- At 8:18 in the first period, the Wildcats took the lead 1-0 on the power play as Devlin fired a shot to the upper stick side of the net. The goal was assisted by freshman defenseman Damien Carfagna (Woodridge, N.J) and sophomore defenseman Colton Huard (Foothill Ranch, Calif.).

- Boston College tied the game 1-1 at 14:08 of the first period when Mitch Andres scored the first goal for the Eagles with an assist posted by Trevor Kuntar.
- The Eagles took the lead 2-1 at 8:50 of the second period when Cam Burke sent the puck to Colby Ambrosio straight off the faceoff. Ambrosio then shot a one-timer directly to the back of the net.
- At 17:23 in the second period, Liam Izyk secured the third goal for Boston College with an assist from Matt Argentina and Andres.
- Eriksson responded for the Wildcats at 13:05 of the third period with a slap shot hitting the lower corner of the net. The assist was recorded by junior defenseman Nikolai Jenson (Cold Spring, Minn.) and sophomore forward Robert Cronin (Plymouth, Mass.).

- Ambrosio made it 4-2 for the Eagles at 18:55 of the third period as he scored an empty net goal with an assist from Nikita Nesterenko.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Senior goalie David Fessenden (Parker, Colo.) posted 26 saves for UNH, while Mitch Benson made 29 saves for Boston College.
- UNH outshot BC by a 31-30 margin.
- The Wildcats went 1-3 on the power play and BC went 0-5.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- Devlin scored the 12th goal of his collegiate career and his team-leading third of the season.
