Wildcats sweep Merrimack in straight sets

Mia Pagliarini notched a match-high 17 digs in the victory
DURHAM, N.H. -- The University of New Hampshire volleyball team defeated Merrimack College, 3-0 in non-conference play on Thursday night at Lundholm Gymnasium. The set scores were 25-20, 25-15 and 26-24.
UNH improves to 6-5 overall on the season, while Merrimack drops to 0-12 overall. The 'Cats are now 3-1 at home this season at Lundholm Gym.
Kelly Kaufmann (Raleigh, N.C.), Shea Purcell (Shaker Heights, Ohio) and Abby Sullivan (Methuen, Mass.) each registered eight kills on the night for the Wildcats. Junior setter Wren Macaulay (Lake Orion, Mich.) registered 29 assists, seven kills, seven digs and three aces.
Sophomore Mia Pagliarini (Springboro, Ohio) amassed a match-high 17 digs on defense for the Wildcats.
As a team, the Wildcats hit .364 in the third stanza with 19 kills and posted 11 kills and a .320 hitting percentage in the second frame.
The Wildcats return to action on Friday, September 17th against Morgan State. Match time is 3 p.m. from Hamel Court at Merrimack College.
Brooke Leetsma recorded a match-high 14 kills in the losing effort for the Warriors.
