Wildcats defeat Morgan State in straight sets

Erin Hedrick had a team-high seven kills for the Wildcats in their seventh victory of the season
NORTH ANDOVER, MASS. -- The University of New Hampshire volleyball team defeated Morgan State in straight sets on Friday afternoon at Hammel Court on the campus on Merrimack College. The set scores were 25-22, 25-18 and 25-20.
UNH improves to 7-5 on the season, while Morgan State drops to 2-11 overall.
"Today we received excellent offensive production from our entire offensive unit," said UNH head coach Christopher Feliciano.
Erin Hedrick (Montvale, N.J.) amassed a team-high seven kills with a .462 hitting percentage, while Kelly Kaufmann (Raleigh, N.C.) and Abby Sullivan (Methuen, Mass.) each chipped in with six kills apiece for the 'Cats. Sullivan hit at a .500 clip, while Kaufmann hit .444 in the match.
Junior setter Wren Macaulay (Lake Orion, Mich.) totaled 20 assists on the day, while sophomore libero Mia Pagliarini (Springboro, Ohio) had nine digs in the 'Cats seventh victory of the season.
UNH hit .391 as a team in the second frame with 11 kills, while the Wildcats also tallied 11 kills in the opening frame.
Gabriela Hinciano added a match-high 10 kills in the losing effort for Morgan State.
The Wildcats return to action on Saturday, September 18th against Rhode Island. Match time from Lundholm Gymnasium is 3 p.m. on AmericaEast.tv
