Mannesto Voted to CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team

DURHAM, N.H. – Jennika Mannesto (Concord, N.H.) of the University of New Hampshire were named to the 2020-21 Academic District 1 Women's Track & Field / Cross Country First Team by CoSIDA on Thursday.
This accolade recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in competition and the classroom; honorees have a 3.30 or higher cumulative grade point average. Mannesto advances to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot, and those recipients will be announced mid-August.
Mannesto, who recorded a 3.95 cumulative grade point average while obtaining a bachelor's degree in Human Development and Family Studies, currently has a 4.0 GPA in pursuit of a master's degree in Elementary Education.
She was named an America East Presidential Scholar-Athlete in 2020 for maintaining a 3.75 GPA throughout her undergraduate studies. Mannesto has made the America East Commissioner's Honor Roll every semester of competition. She is a two-time member of the National College Athlete Honor Society, Chi Alpha Sigma.
Mannesto recorded four Top-5 finishes in the 2021 outdoor track season, and that included first place in the 3,000-meter run at the UNH Wildcat Invitational II meet. She was runner-up in the 10,000m at the New England Championships, which was her last meet of the season.
Mannesto raced to a third-place finish in the 5,000m at the George Davis Invitational and took fifth place in the 10,000m at the America East championship meet. Also of note, she placed sixth in the 3,000m at the UNH Wildcat Invitational I meet.
In her first competition of the 2020-21 season, Mannesto placed 13th in a cross country dual meet against the University of Rhode Island and UMass Lowell. She scored points for the Wildcats at the America East championship meet with a 24th-place finish.
